So what’s so special about Maudlin?
pyramid
Maudlin’s songs are well crafted, thoughtfully built out of bits and pieces of the human experience, and carried on a torrent of indie-rock energy. They will make you smile with their infectious boy/girl pop melodies while they knock the wind out of you with punchy guitars, and walls of feedback. They’ll draw you in with their blogs, entertaining, and often comedic videos, or maybe just a random conversation. But if you spend any amount of time in their world at all, you’ll come to the conclusion that Maudlin may just be the most personable band you’ve ever met. And they wouldn’t have it any other way.

David and Priscilla have been creating music together since they picked up guitars in high school. In 2004 they recorded “The Penitent Never Regret” in Canada, and toured to promote the CD into 2005. With the addition of Jason in 2006, they released the album in the United States, which was well received by independent radio stations across the country. Since then, they have been working non-stop creating music, videos, and succeeding in generating a more raw, edgy, and mature sound that more aptly portrays their creative abilities.

Take the top off your hypothetical blender, and mix in your leftover teenage angst, and empty out you cupboards of every pent-up emotion you’ve stored. Slice up some nostalgia, and toss in those stale inside jokes only you think are funny. Add a little bit of romance, and even a few things your mother might frown upon. Spoon in a healthy dollop of your good humor, some conspiracy theories, and those sock puppets that you’re not really sure why you even made. Poor all your passion into it- but don’t forget to leave some room for regret! Then hit ‘turbo’ (if your hypothetical blender goes that high.) It’s a tasty treat; edgy, endearing, and unforgettable. It may even remind you a little bit of yourself.

Maudlin- meet them, before they meet you!
